1scarecrow2012Scarecrow Festival was so much fun! Kids, kids, and more kids. Look for photo album coming in the next few days. Many thanks to Karen Chartrand, Chairwoman, fantastic job, Seana Gentry, Keith Gentry, Caden Gentry, Devon McNair and Joann Martz. Mike Swartz and his Extreme Party Rentals are awesome.  Thanks also to the Suwannee Democrat (Puttin on the Dog), Corbitts Mobile Home Sales, The Herold White Band and the Suwannee County Tourist Development Council.
Also, a huge thank you to Mayor Nobles who came to the rescue early in the day when a breaker overloaded and delated the toys.  In minutes the Mayor was there and certainly saved the day for the hundreds of children.
It was a blast.

Historic Live Oak

Our town started out as a comfortable rest stop for railroad workers underneath an old oak tree.  In the 1800's it was one of the largest inland cities in Florida.  While the world around us has changed, the heart of Live Oak remains the same.  We have a vibrant, walkable downtown with interesting shops, numerous festivals through out the year andgreat activities for adults and children alike.  We are surrounded by the Suwannee River, so beautiful springs are just minutes away with diving, swimming, and boating.

Whether you are looking for a place to live, play or work, Live Oak has it good!
