Live Oak Partnership Announces 2012 Event Schedule

The Live Oak Partnership announced its’ 2012 series of crowd-pleasing home-town events for downtown Live Oak. The Partnership focuses on downtown economic development including retail recruitment and retention, property and physical improvement, marketing and promotions and business development. Downtown events are an important part of these efforts.  The 2012 season includes:

The Second Annual Live Oak Chocolate Festival/ March 3, 2012
This years’ Chocolate Festival will include Vendors, Chocolatiers, Artists, Crafters, Cooking Demonstrations, and Writers. The evening will end with a free Jazz and Blues concert.

Flea Across Florida/ April 13-15, 2012 AND September 14-16, 2012
Florida’s longest yard sale makes a double repeat performance in 2012, with two events in 2012! Stretching from Live Oak to Pensacola, this event brings a “yard salers” dream to our area.

The Fourth Annual Live Oak June Bug Festival/ June 16, 2012
This mid-summers’ family event creates some of the best fun around, to help get our minds off the miserable summer heat. Vendors, fun, entertainment and so much more family fun.

The Tenth Annual Live Oak Scarecrow Festival/ October 27, 2012
Build a Scarecrow, enjoy kids’ events, dress up your dog… be a scarecrow! This and much more is featured at this festival. Get out with the family and enjoy the cool fall weather.

As part of the marketing and promotions, the Live Oak Partnership plans, produces and executes these special events in downtown Live Oak with the following goals in mind:

·         Reacquainting long-time residents, newer residents and visitors to downtown
·         Creating an open, inviting and secure venue to celebrate arts, culture and community
·         Increasing pedestrian traffic on the sidewalks and in the parks
·         Increasing sales for retail establishments, and restaurants
·         Offering free, unique cultural opportunities to community members

All the efforts of The Live Oak Partnership are made possible by the hard work of citizen volunteers and the generous support of businesses and community agencies. Sponsorship opportunities are available for all downtown events. Additionally, concerned citizens are welcomed to assist in the efforts of the Partnership.
