Partnership prides itself on Signature EventsFrom its humble beginnings, The Live Oak Partnership has made a commitment to provide quality family-friendly events to bring people downtown. Adopting the goal of ‘filling the sidewalks’, the leadership of The Live Oak Partnership has worked diligently to present and participate in such events.Laying the foundation with the Live Oak Junebug festival, the series of events has grown considerably. With everything from full scale festival events and First Friday events to partnering with other groups such as the Live Oak Artist’s Guild and the Suwannee County Museum to add entertainment venues to their existing events. The question has been asked, “Why does The Live Oak Partnership have so many events?’. While these events do not offer any tangible evidence of revitalization, they do provide opportunities to fill the space, an opportunity to share a vision, and an opportunity to gain support and funding. Events can be used effectively as a method to raise awareness. Careful planning and execution of events will benefit individual businesses as well as promote the entire downtown area and the community as a whole. It is hopeful that these events will ‘fill the sidewalks’ and that because of their uniqueness in nature, some might become signature events for the Live Oak community, giving our area a sense of place and identity. |
How We Are Funded
The Live Oak Partnership is funded through the efforts of participating citizens and businesses of the Financial Partner program. In addition to these sources,
The Live Oak Partnership also gains funding through the sponsoring and participating of many downtown events throughout the calendar year. Many of the projects and endeavors of The Live Oak Partnership are based on the Downtown Revitalization Vision Plan, which was funded by the City of Live Oak Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), therefore much of the funding for these efforts will be requested through the budgetary funds of the CRA. Partnering with the office of the Mayor and the City Development Manager, The Live Oak Partnership will lead in the catalytic effort of downtown revitalization.
